Long time no see. I hope all of you are doing OK. I’m sending you this information about the MHRC toy drive for this year. Remember the toys have to be new and unwrapped. I don’t have any ideas yet of who will be participating in the actual drive to the hospital. Any volunteers?
I also need to inform all of you about the fact that Theresa and I will be moving out of the area. We are purchasing a house in Long Beach WA. We have been talking about this for a long time and finally decided to make the move. We plan to remain in the club for as long as the club exists. However I will not be able to remain as your president and Theresa will not be able to remain as your treasurer. I truly appreciate all of you accepting us into your club and having enough faith in us to take on these positions. We believe that it would be very difficult for us to continue in our positions while living permanently at the coast.
We have a spare bedroom that is full of raffle prizes for this year’s Planters’ Days show. Can any of you store these for the club? Please let us know.
Rose City Classics took over the car show portion of Woodland Planters’ Days on Father’s Day 2004. After two years of absence due to the Covid situation we are working with the Woodland Planters’ Days committee on plans for the show’s return in 2022. Here are a few pictures of the 2004 show.
Hi everyone. Here are a couple of things for all of you to think about.
First, your club needs a representative to attend the MHRC meetings. Their meetings are on the third Tuesday of every month. John and Donna have always taken this on. Since Donna is not feeling well we are looking for someone to step up. Please let me know if you are interested.
Second, it’s that time for nominations for your club officers and board. If you are interested or know of someone that is please let me know.
I hope that all of you are still doing OK and that maybe someday we can get back to our club meetings and activities.Best wishes,
For those that are or want to participate in the reverse parade Saturday for Planters Day The parade is at the New Woodland High School

The club is planning a meeting to discuss some issues that we need to look at. It is scheduled for June 10 at 6:30 at Vern and Marys house. For those of you who have never been to their home their address is: 10021 NE 246th circle Battleground Wa. This is strictly a meeting. No dinner will be served. Please either eat before or you can bring yourself some takeout. Bring whatever you would like to drink
We’ve decided to “postpone” the August 16 Boys Home Car Show due to the ongoing conditions we are all dealing with. St. Mary’s Administration would still like us to have our show this year if health & safety issues can be resolved. So, stay tuned as I will let all know well in advance if we can do something this year. As always, Cindy and I truly appreciate everyone’s support for the Boys Home.
Rose City Classics President Gary Malhum and Rose City Classics Planters Days car show coordinator Vern Balkowitsch have announced Rose City Classics will NOT be participating at Planters Days this year.
I hope that you are all still healthy and avoiding the coronavirus. This is a quick message to let you all know that I had to cancel our reservations for our final stop on the fun run. Had I not cancelled them now the club would have lost our $500 deposit I hope I’m not jumping the gun on this but I don’t see this mess clearing up anytime soon. Hopefully we can put together a bumper to bumper when this crap finally ends. I have not heard any further news about Planters Days. I’m trying to be optimistic about it but I don’t see it happening either. I don’t think we’ll have the time to prepare for the show even if it was to happen. Any ideas please feel free to let me know. Best wishes as always.
Hi everyone, This message is to let all of you know that we are cancelling the March meeting. I have addressed this to your board and we all agree that it is better to err on the side of caution at this time. As far as future meetings are concerned I guess we’ll play it by ear. I’ll continue to stay in touch with you as this virus continues to progress. Hopefully it is short lived but I’m not very confident that it will be. Be well everybody, Gary Malhum
